Sehan University (President Lee Seung-hoon) Taekwondo Department (Director of Physical Education Choi Gong-jip) participated in the 'National Echo Taekwondo Championship,' held in Iksan City, Jeollabuk-do, on December 2. In the men's adult individual category and the speed kicking section, student Bae Sung-yong (3rd year) won a gold medal.

Regarding his gold medal at this competition, student Bae Sung-yong said, "This year, in various national Taekwondo competitions in the -63kg class, I faced many challenges in the quarterfinals, and it was regrettable. However, I am very happy to achieve a double championship in this competition."

Despite facing severe intellectual disabilities, student Bae Sung-yong demonstrates strong enthusiasm for Taekwondo, engaging in both sparring and forms, and putting his best effort into Taekwondo training.

Professor Choi Gong-jip, the Director of Physical Education, expressed, "I send encouragement and applause to Bae Sung-yong, who has given his best. I hope he continues to train hard during this winter training, developing robust physical and mental strength, and grows as an even more outstanding athlete."
