Department of Liberal Arts

The biggest feature of the Liberal Arts Department at Sehan University is the freedom to choose one’s major. With the exception of a few majors specified in the university regulations, students have the freedom to choose any major and even create new majors to earn their degrees. To actualize this diversity, the university implements various educational programs and offers a wide range of extracurricular education.
• Educational Objectives:
  • To enhance comprehensive thinking and problem-solving skills through a broad and in-depth foundation education, aiming to foster creative and autonomous individuals who can lead in the era of change and contribute to the global community.
• Department Curriculum:
  • Unlike the traditional system where students decide on their department or major before entering the university, students have the opportunity to explore different majors by directly taking classes from various disciplines in their first semester of the freshman year.
  • Students conduct explorations of different departments to make a personal choice that suits their aptitude and career aspirations.
  • They learn about various social changes required for future industries and develop understanding and creativity in the field.
  • Through self-reflection, they strengthen their capabilities as future professionals in society.
• Career Paths after Graduation:
  • The Liberal Arts Department offers a unique system where students can explore different majors by directly taking classes from various disciplines in their first semester of the freshman year, instead of deciding on their department or major before entering the university. In the second semester, they choose the major they desire. They can select their final major and receive a degree in that department. If they are unable to choose their desired major in the second semester, they can gain experience in various majors and even pursue a personalized interdisciplinary degree.

  • Through special lectures on each major, they can explore and choose a major that suits them individually.
