Recruitment Notice for Yeongho-nam Mutual Aid Scholarship Students

We are recruiting Yeongho-nam Mutual Aid Scholarship students who have made a significant contribution to projects such as East-West Reconciliation, Human Rights Development, and Peace Settlement, which are being promoted as part of the Yeongho-nam mutual aid initiative.

Selection Overview

  • Number of Recipients: 5 students
  • Scholarship Amount: 2 million won per student
  • Payment Date: December 14, 2023 (Thursday) / 23rd Anniversary of the Nobel Peace Prize
  • Recipients of the scholarship must attend the scholarship award ceremony on December 14 (Seoul). The event schedule may be subject to change.

Selection Criteria (Applicant Eligibility) As of the announcement date, applicants must meet both of the following criteria:

  1. The guardian (parent or legal guardian) or the student themselves must have had an address in Jeollanam-do for more than one year and must be currently enrolled at a university in Jeollanam-do (excluding students on leave of absence or graduates).

  2. University students who have made efforts in East-West reconciliation, human rights development, peace settlement, or individuals with a significant public contribution in these fields, as children of university students.

(Detailed Requirements by Field)

  • (East-West Reconciliation): Contribution to East-West reconciliation in the fields of politics, economics, culture, and the arts in Yeongho-nam.

  • (Human Rights): Contribution to the protection of human rights of socially vulnerable groups or efforts in this field.

  • (Peace): Contribution to resolving conflicts and disputes in local communities and promoting peace settlement.

Application and Submission Method

  • Application Period: November 1, 2023 (Wednesday) - November 20, 2023 (Monday)
  • Submission Method: In-person or registered mail *Submissions received by 18:00 on the submission deadline will be considered.

  • Yeongho-nam Mutual Aid Scholarship Coordinator, Jeollanam-do Office, 1 Oryong-gil, Samhyang-eup, Mu-an-gun, Jeollanam-do, 58564, South Korea.

Selection and Results

  • Selection will be made through external expert document evaluation.
  • Results will be individually notified to the selected applicants (expected by November 30).

Required Documents

  1. Scholarship Application Form (1 copy) - Annex 1 Form
  2. Proof of Activities and Accomplishments (1 copy) or Letter of Recommendation (1 copy) - Annex 2 Form
  • One copy of each of the above documents is acceptable.
  1. Proof of Enrollment (1 copy) - Issued after the announcement date.
  2. Resident Registration Certificate (1 copy)
  • Submit the most recent document showing address history for the past year after the announcement date.
  • If your address on the resident registration is not in Jeollanam-do, you must also submit a resident registration certificate of the parent(s) and a family relationship certificate.
  1. Personal Information Collection, Use, and Disclosure Consent Form (1 copy) - Annex 3 Form
  2. Copy of Personal Bank Account (for the applicant) - 1 copy

Additional Notes

  • Individuals or universities found to have provided false information or applied through improper means will be disqualified from consideration.
  • Submitted documents will not be returned.
  • Ensure that personal identification numbers are concealed on submitted documents.
  • If the information in the submitted documents is found to be different from the actual situation, the selection may be canceled.
