May 31 is the World Health Organization designated World No Tobacco Day, designed to pray that the world is smoke-free.
On the 37th World No Tobacco Day in 2024, Professor Lu Renshu (photo) of our university, director of the Institute of Mental Health (Dementia), won the Ministerial Award for Health and Welfare.

Professor Lu Renshu of the nursing of our university is an expert in the field of mental health. She has several research studies in the field of smoking addiction.
The whole world recognizes that smoking is very harmful to humans, so South Korea strives to prevent the harm caused by smoking at the national level, and to carry out various defensive measures. Our university also carries out education and publicity activities for the public.
Professor Lu Renshu stressed in our school, from 2015 to 2024,10 years, we found that improve the health of late adolescence and early adulthood for the growth and development of human beings is very important, and professor Lu Renshu led with the greatest enthusiasm for other university college students to stop smoking cessation program, create a healthy and happy learning environment for the university.
We make efforts in education and publicity, not only within the university, but also in other educational institutions in the community of South Jeolla Province, to reduce the harmful effects of smoking and promote smoking cessation.
The slogan for 202024 is "Protect Children and Teenagers from the tobacco industry", so we will work more to create smoke-free universities and regions to create a healthier living environment for the people of South Jeolla Province.
