On May 30,2025, our university was successfully selected for the "2025 University Sports Team Evaluation and Support Project" hosted by the Korean University Sports General Council (KUSF).
The project, jointly supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the National Sports Promotion Corporation, aims to enhance the overall competitiveness of university sports by strengthening operational support for university sports teams. Additionally, the project encourages universities to improve self-management and promote the standardized development of university sports. The evaluation includes 21 indicators, such as infrastructure and resource allocation, athlete management and support measures, recruitment and development potential of student athletes, coaching staff allocation and professional capabilities, and social cooperation of university sports teams. Sehan University performed well across all evaluation indicators and was awarded an annual project support fund of 53 million won.
With the selection, our university will further strengthen the support for the training funds, equipment purchase and competition participation of students in sports teams, and expand personalized training and curriculum arrangement, so as to promote the dual-track training mode of "study + sports".
Cui Meishun, director of the university, said: "Our team's management system is professional and advanced, which fully proves that our university stands out among many universities and is successfully selected. We will continue to do our best to ensure that student athletes can balance their academic and sports development in the best state."
Currently, our university has established various sports teams, including the baseball team, judo team, shooting team, taekwondo team, wrestling team, and bowling team. In recent years, we have actively sought project funding support from organizations such as the Korean Sports General Agreement, Jeollanam-do Sports Association, and Yeongnyang County Sports Association, continuously promoting the systematic development of university sports.
